The context of this tripartite agreement is rooted in a desire to improve access to medicines, education and economic and social integration for refugees in Morocco.
A tripartite partnership agreement was signed on 21 June 2024 in Rabat, marking a significant step forward in improving access to healthcare for refugees. The parties involved, the Noufissa Pharma 5 Foundation, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the ‘Association Marocaine de Planning Familial’ (AMPF), ratified the agreement on World Refugee Day.
The main aim of this collaboration is to consolidate the joint medical programme between the UNHCR and the AMPF, for the benefit of refugee populations. The vice-president of the Noufissa Pharma 5 Foundation, Yasmine Lahlou Filali, the UNHCR representative in Morocco, François Ribet Degat, and the Executive Director of the AMPF, Abdel Latif Mammeri, signed the document sealing this commitment.
The Noufissa Pharma 5 Foundation’s financial commitment amounts to one million dirhams in medicines, spread over three years, to support refugees on Moroccan soil. This partnership, which will take effect in 2024 and run until 2026, is part of a framework agreement signed on 19 December 2023, covering the period 2024-2026.
The first delivery of medicines has already been made by the Foundation to the AMPF, which will be responsible for distribution to its health centres, in its capacity as executive partner of the UNHCR’s health sector in Morocco.
The context of this tripartite agreement is rooted in a desire to strengthen access to medicines, education and economic and social integration for refugees in Morocco. The collaboration between the Noufissa Pharma 5 Foundation and the UNHCR, initiated in 2019, has laid the foundations for a fruitful and strengthened cooperation.
The prospects of this partnership focus on health, education and employment, offering refugees opportunities to rebuild their lives and contribute positively to Moroccan society.
The signatories affirm that this commitment is in harmony with the principles of solidarity and integration advocated by King Mohammed VI.
