The second phase of the Connected Mobile Medical Units program deploys 50 new units to rural areas. These units combine on-site care with telemedicine capabilities, providing a new model for remote healthcare delivery. This builds on the success of the first phase, which launched 50 units in October 2023 across 34 provinces.
Located south of Casablanca, this new center will cater to the needs of roughly 170,000 residents in nearby neighborhoods. The Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity funded the 90 million dirham (approximately 9 million euro) project, aiming to provide high-quality integrated care and alleviate pressure on existing hospitals. The center is expected to serve nearly 60,000 patients annually.
These initiatives align with Morocco’s tradition of launching social projects during Ramadan to enhance citizen well-being, particularly in healthcare. The King’s actions demonstrate a commitment to expanding access to quality medical services throughout the country, both in urban and rural areas.
