A communication meeting was held on Tuesday in Rabat to present the main contents of the proposed amendments to the Family Code.
On Monday, King Mohammed VI chaired a working meeting at the Royal Palace of Casablanca dedicated to the reform of the Family Code. During the meeting, the Sovereign issued directives regarding the next steps in the development of this long-awaited code.
Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch stated that the initiative aims to inform both national and international media about the proposed amendments, ensuring that the public remains informed about this significant reform.
He assured stakeholders that the sovereign’s expectations would be fulfilled in a timely manner in order to submit the revision project to Parliament.
Moroccan Minister of Justice Abdellatif Ouahbi presented the progress made in this area, while Minister of Religious Endowments and Islamic Affairs Ahmed Toufiq and Minister of Solidarity Naima Ben Yahia shared their respective contributions.
The meeting brought together high-ranking personalities, including the Presidents of both Houses of Parliament, representatives of the judiciary, constitutional institutions, and members of the commission tasked with revising the Family Code.
During the royal working session, King Mohammed VI emphasised the importance of transparency and communication with the public regarding this crucial reform.
