The “Health Impact Investment Platform” aims to provide $1.5 billion to improve primary healthcare systems in these countries.
The initiative focuses on strengthening health care in the poorest regions and building resilience to crises. Morocco, along with other countries in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, is set to receive support to address healthcare challenges, particularly in rural areas.
The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted weaknesses in many healthcare systems, and this platform offers an opportunity to implement essential measures to strengthen primary care. By involving the private sector, local communities, and diverse financing options, countries can make significant progress in advancing health.
WHO estimates a global investment of over $31 billion annually is needed to prepare for future health crises, and this platform aims to contribute to meeting this goal. For Morocco, it represents a chance to modernize its healthcare infrastructure and better protect its population.
