Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, Thursday had a video conference with his Norwegian counterpart, Ms. Ine Marie Eriksen Soreide.
Hailing the excellent relations between Morocco and Norway, the two ministers reiterated their common desire to further strengthen them.
They resolved that political consultations should be stepped up, as well as drawing up a common roadmap to lead to concrete joint initiatives, the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
After magnifying the exceptional management by the two countries in the fight against Covid-19, Mr. Bourita and Ms. Eriksen Soreide insisted on the importance of capitalizing on the post-pandemic period to set up a cooperation agenda and sectoral visits, expanding to the youth fields of culture, tourism and climate.
During their talks on regional and international issues of common interest, Ms. Eriksen Soreide praised Morocco’s stabilizing role in the region, the statement stressed.
The two ministers also insisted on the importance of consultations between Morocco and Norway in international forums on issues of common interest.
They also agreed to organize a working visit to Morocco later this year, the statement concluded.
