Morocco confirmed Wednesday five new cases of Covid-19, bringing the number of cases in the Kingdom to 49, the Ministry of Health said in a press release.
These are imported cases, two French nationals in Agadir, two Moroccans from Casablanca back from Spain and one Moroccan from Meknes coming from Egypt, the same source said, noting that all these cases are currently under medical assistance at the hospital where they are taken care in accordance with health measures in force.
The spread continues, at a rate more or less similar to that of the last few days. The majority of cases are imported as the number of local contaminations remaining low.
Two deaths have been recorded in the Kingdom since the outbreak of the epidemic, while the first infected patient has fully recovered, according to the country’s health authorities.
As a reminder, Morocco has taken a battery of measures to curb the spread of Covid-19, including the closure of Moroccan air and sea space to travellers, the cancellation of sporting, cultural and artistic gatherings and events, the establishment of a special fund for the management of the pandemic, the suspension of classes, the temporary closure of mosques, and the suspension of hearings in the various courts of the Kingdom.
Other measures have been taken by the competent authorities in the field of public transport and the closure of unnecessary public spaces.
