Moroccan group OCP plans to increase its stake in Spanish company Global Feed SLU to 75 percent through its
subsidiary OCP International Cooperatieve UA, strengthening its position in animal nutrition.
In Africa, OCP supports agricultural development by offering tailored solutions to strengthen food security. In Europe, the phosphate leader is consolidating its position through strategic partnerships in plant
and animal nutrition.
The increased stake in the assets of Spanish company Global Feed SLU, which involves the additional acquisition of 25 percent of the capital and voting rights, remains subject to approval by the Moroccan Competition Council.
Already in May 2023, OCP had acquired 50 percent of Global Feed’s capital from Fertinagro Biotech S.L., marking its desire to position itself as a key player in the global animal nutrition sector.
This new transaction confirms the group’s expansion strategy aimed at diversifying its activities beyond plant nutrition, a sector in which it is already a world leader.
Based in Huelva, Spain, Global Feed SLU specialises in the manufacture of dicalcium phosphates (DCP) and monocalcium phosphates (MCP), as well as iron sulfate, essential products for improving the nutritional
quality of animal feed.
With an annual capacity of 200,000 tons of phosphates and 30,000 tons of iron sulfate, the company exports to more than 40 countries in Europe, Asia and Africa.
This capital increase is part of a broader strategic vision of the OCP group to meet the growing demand for animal nutrition solutions.
Faced with the challenges posed by a rise in the world’s population, OCP intends to contribute to strengthening global food security by expanding its offering to a fast-growing sector.
