The government of Morocco has decided to suspend its flights with the United Kingdom from Sunday, in an attempt to curb the spread of the new variant of Covid-19.
A government statement released on Sunday, says the decision “comes to buttress emergency measures taken to preserve the health of the people and curb the spread of the pandemic.”
Fears of a resurgence of the new variant of the Covid epidemic have prompted several European countries to temporarily halt their trade with the United Kingdom.
According to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, this new variant “is transmitted much more easily,” adding that “there is no evidence that it is more deadly or that it causes a more severe form of the disease, or that it reduces the effectiveness of vaccines.”
