This 2nd round table will be held in accordance with the provisions of the latest Security Council resolution (2440), adopted on October 31, 2018, which stipulates that the purpose of the political process is to “achieve a realistic, pragmatic and lasting solution based on compromise,” the statement said.
This resolution encourages all participants in the round table, Morocco, Algeria, Algeria, Mauritania and Polisario, “to work constructively with the Personal Envoy, in a spirit of compromise, throughout the process, so that it can be concluded.”
Led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Nasser Bourita, the Moroccan delegation will include Mr. Omar Hilale, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Morocco to the United Nations in New York, Mr. Sidi Hamdi Ouled Errachid, President of the Laäyoune-Sakia El Hamra region, Mr. Yenja El Khattat, President of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, and Mrs. Fatima El Adli, a member of the Municipal Council of Smara, said the statement.
