King Mohammed VI, on Tuesday, met in Rabat, with the members of the Moroccan football team, after their brilliant performance at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
This meeting follows the historic and unprecedented feat achieved by the national football team which reached the semi-finals, the first and most resounding success of its kind of Moroccan, Arab and African football, in the final tournament of this global sporting event.
During the audience, the king gave the Royal Wissams (distinctions) to the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Fouzi Lakjaa, the coach of the National Team, Walid Regragui, and the players of the national team, who were accompanied by their mothers.
He also awarded Fouzi Lakjaa and Walid Regragui, the Wissam Al Arch of 2nd class (Commander).
The Sovereign decorated all the players of the national team with the Wissam Al Arch of 3rd class (Officer). The King has also given His instructions for the award of Royal decorations to all the technical and medical staff of the national team, in recognition of the exceptional work accomplished.
The members of the National Team had returned to the Kingdom late Tuesday afternoon. The inhabitants of Rabat, Sale and other cities of the Kingdom have given them a hilarious welcome. Thus, since their arrival at the airport of Rabat-Sale, and all along their route, the Atlas Lions were cheered by a public that turned out in great numbers to greet them and magnify their exceptional journey in Qatar.
