The 7th Namibia International Energy Conference (NIEC) is set to take place in Windhoek from April 23-25 next year, promising to showcase the country’s growing status as an emerging energy hub in Africa.
Convened by RichAfrica Consultancy and endorsed by the Ministry of Mines and Energy and the African Energy Chamber, this flagship event will bring together global and local energy leaders, investors, service companies and financial institutions.
RichAfrica Consultancy chief executive and NIEC 2025 convenor Selma Shimutwikeni, said the theme for the conference, “Leading The Way: Becoming An Energy Hub with In-Country Value,” underscored Namibia’s ambition to leverage its abundant oil, gas and renewable resources while fostering an enabling environment for attracting global investment.
“For the 7th edition of NIEC, we are moving from reimagining resource-rich Namibia to leading the way with impactful action,” Shimutwikeni said in a statement.
She noted that the conference is expected to be a catalyst for action, “turning conversations into real outcomes that drive investments, advance exploration and strengthen connections.”
As the country makes strides towards this goal, it aims to ensure that local industries and communities benefit significantly from its burgeoning energy sector, particularly from the world-class hydrocarbon discoveries in the Orange Basin.
NIEC 2025 will focus on unlocking dynamic opportunities for partnerships and investments that expand infrastructure, build local capacity, improve access to finance and enhance regulatory frameworks.
Conference participants are expected to engage in discussions on critical topics such as Namibia’s latest offshore discoveries, energy security, power industry growth and green hydrogen initiatives.
The conference will also explore the interconnectedness of Namibia’s energy sector with its critical metals industry, highlighting its role in driving broader economic and industrial development.
An interactive exhibition will allow companies to showcase innovative technologies and solutions that are shaping the future of Namibia’s energy landscape, emphasising power access, environmental stewardship and sustainability.
A key feature of this year’s conference is the Future Energy Leaders Initiative, which seeks to engage young professionals in Namibia’s energy industry, providing them with mentorship and skills development opportunities.
