The National Basketball Association (NBA) of the United States has promised to build 100 basketball courts in schools and communities across Kenya, APA learnt on Thursday.
This ambitious drive will take place in the next decade as the NBA attempts to develop the sport in Kenya where basketball is becoming popular.
This was revealed as President William Ruto met NBA Deputy Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer Mark Tatum in Nairobi on Wednesday.
Five-time NBA champion Derek Fisher and US Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman were also present.
According to President Ruto, the NBA is poised to turn Nairobi into a commercial hub in Nairobi, which he said would constitute a major boost for investment in Kenya.
