The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Monday defeated their Sao Tome and Principe counterparts 10-0 in the first leg of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between the two teams played at the Grand Stade Agadir, in Morocco.
The Super Eagles, which dominated proceedings in the match, opened scoring in the 10th minute though Victor Osimhen, who converted a perfect pass from Moses Simon.
Moses Simon got the second goal in the 28th minute when his shot from a beautiful pass from Victor Osimhen beat the opponent’s goal keeper.
The third goal came in the 43rd minute through Terem Moffi and the first half ended 3-0 in favour of the Super Eagles.
The Super Eagles dominance of play continued in the second half with seven goals to show for their efforts in the second half..
Victor Osimhen got his brace in the 48th minute of the match and scored two more goals in the 65th and 84th minutes of the match to bring his tally to 4 goals.
Oghenekaro Etobo scored Nigeria’s 5th goal in the 55th minute from a free kick outside the 18-yard box when Victor Osimhen was brought down by the opponent’s defender.
Terem Moffi got his brace in 60th of the match to bring the score line to 6-0, while Ademola Lookman scored in 63rd minute of the match to bring the score line to 7-0.
The goals from Victor Osimhen in the 65th for his hat trick and his fourth goal scored in the 84th , while Emmanuel Dennis converted the penalty awarded to the team after he was brought down inside the 18-yard box for the 10th goal during the extra-time (90+2)..
With this victory, Nigeria have 6 points from two matches, having won the first match against Sierra Leone 2-1 last week in Abuja, Nigeria..
