The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Thursday defeated the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone 2-1 in the first leg of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier played at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
In the match played without fans in the stands, saw the visitors take the lead in the 11th minute of the match through Jonathan Morsay.
The visitors’ early goal forced the Super Eagles to raise their game and in the 16th minute of the match, Alex Iweobi was set up by Moses Simon for the equalizer for the Super Eagles.
The second goal for the Super Eagles was scored by Victor Osimhen in the 42nd minute of the match to bring the score line to 2-1 in favour of the Super Eagles.
The efforts of Super Eagles to increase the tally could not yield any result, while the visitors failed the get the equaliser.
