Nigeria’s U-20 Women football team, the Falconets on Sunday defeated their Tanzanian counterparts 2-1 in their second leg of the 2024 U-20 Women’s World Cup African qualifying series.
The match, which was played at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja, saw the Nigerian women take the lead in the 16th of the game through Janet Akekoromowei.
The visitors equalized 5 minutes later through Jamila Mnunduka to bring the score line to 1-1.
The second goal for the Falconets was scored by Comfort Folorunsho to bring the score line to 2-1
With this result, Nigeria defeated Tanzania with a 3-2 aggregate, having played a 1-1 draw in the first leg played a week ago in Tanzania.
