The fourth retreat of the ECOWAS Permanent Representative Committee (PRC) with the theme “Peace and Security Challenges in a Changing Region” opened on Monday in Lagos, Nigeria.
The week-long event will review the decisions of the 3rd PRC retreat and its accomplishments, discuss regional security sector governance issues, strategize on maximizing PRC diplomatic engagements and elaborate on key ECOWAS programmes and projects in the region.
A statement by the ECOWAS Commission said that the report of key recommendations and decisions made at the retreat would be prepared and adopted at the end of the meeting on Friday 10th June 2022.
It added that the participants expected at the workshop include staff of the ECOWAS Commission, ECOWAS Permanent Representatives, officials of International Development Partners and Key Stakeholders across the region.
