The Organised Labour in Nigeria has suspended the two-day old nationwide strike over the national minimum wage.
According to local media reports on Tuesday, the suspension of the strike is for five days to enable the tripartite committee on the new national minimum wage conclude their negotiations.
Before the news of the suspension of the strike on Tuesday, there were reports on Monday night that the Nigerian Government was committed to paying over N60,000 as minimum wage.
The current national minimum wage is N30,000.
With the suspension of the strike, it is expected that civil servants, commercial banks, schools and hospital will resume normal services on Wednesday.
Nigerians are also expecting that electricity will restored after two days of nationwide blackout, which was caused by the strike action of the Organised Labour.
