The Super Eagles of Nigeria have failed to redeem their image as they were held to a goalless draw by Leone Stars of Sierra Leone in the second leg of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at the Siaka Stevens Stadium, Freetown on Tuesday.
The first leg of the encounter between the two teams ended in 4-4 draw in Benin City after the Super Eagles threw away their 4-0 lead before the end of the first half of the match.
The best two chances created by the Super Eagles during the match could not be converted as one of the efforts was parried by the Sierra Leonean keeper, while the second was ruled out by the referee.
The efforts made by the Leone Stars in the second half of the match could not yield any fruitful result for the home side as the two teams settled for a goalless draw.
With this score line, Super Eagles of Nigeria still top Group L with 8 points from 4 games, while the Leone Stars have 4 points from 4 games.
