The three-year revival policy of the Nigerian economy by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the warning of another recession dominate the headlines of Nigerian press on Wednesday.
The Nation reported that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has developed a three-year policy plan to revive the Nigerian economy.
The CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele, who announced the measures on Tuesday, said the Policy Response Timeline would guide Nigeria’s crises management and orderly rebooting of the economy by relying on homegrown solutions.
This Day quoted Emefiele as saying that despite the damage the COVID-19 pandemic is causing nations around the world, it presents an opportunity to birth “a new Nigeria”.
The Daily Trust reported the Federal Government that funds donated by the private sector towards fighting coronavirus are meant for development of healthcare infrastructure and cannot be used to provide palliatives during the lockdown.
The Punch said the Federal Government, as part of efforts to take advantage of the two-week lockdown extension aims to conduct 4,000 COVID-19 tests every day.
The Director General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Chikwe Ihekweazu, said 2,000 tests would be conducted in Lagos, 1,000 in Abuja and 1,000 in other parts of the country.

The magistrates’ court also granted bail to 10 passengers of Carveton Helicopters, who were flown into Rivers State by the pilots.
