The Super Eagles of Nigeria have qualified for the African Cup of Nations to be hosted by Cameroon in 2022.
The Super Eagles defeated the Squirrels of Benin Republic 1-0 in the qualifying match played on Saturday at the Stade Charles de Gaulle in Porto Novo.
The only goal of the match was scored by Paul Onuachu, who headed in the ball into the opponent’s net from a corner kick in the last minute of the 3-minute extra to secure victory for the Nigerian team.
With this victory, Nigeria top the group with 11 points with one outstanding match against Lesotho.
In another qualifier played earlier today in Group L, Sierra Leone played a goalless draw with Lesotho.
