The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) says it has opened a maritime museum, which is the first in Africa.
NIMASA said in a statement on Monday in Lagos that the museum, which is located within the new NIMASA head office building in Victoria Island, Lagos, that “all is set for the official opening of the museum”.

The Director General of NIMASA, Dr Bashir Jamoh, said when he inspected the museum at the weekend that it would serve such purposes as “archiving, educating stakeholders and tourism for both local and international tourists”.
