The $33 million investment will see Weir Group provide state-of-the-art, energy-efficient solutions to enhance productivity and reduce environmental impact. The company’s WARMAN slurry pump and CAVEX hydrocyclone technology will be used to optimize separation and de-ignition processes.
This partnership aligns with OCP’s commitment to sustainable development and its goal of significantly increasing phosphate production in Morocco. The Benguerir project is expected to triple production, while the Louta site is currently under construction.
Weir Group will also provide after-sales technical support from its Moroccan service center, ensuring seamless integration and ongoing maintenance. The company’s CEO, Jon Stanton, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership and highlighted the energy-efficient benefits of Weir’s solutions.
The contract, valued at £25 million, is a significant addition to Weir Group’s portfolio but is not expected to impact its financial outlook for 2024.
The expansion of the Benguerir and Louta projects reinforces OCP’s position as a global leader in the fertilizer industry and demonstrates its commitment to meeting the growing demand for agricultural products.
