The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has condemned in the strongest terms Friday’s attack on a prayer vigil in Niger.
The attackers on 21 March 2025 targeted worshippers performing Friday prayers in the village of Fambita, located in the district of Téra, Niger.
Dozens of worshippers were killed and score were injured.
In a statement on Sunday, Secretary-General of the OIC, Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, expressed his strong condemnation of the act committed in the last ten days of the blessed month of Ramadan.
Taha offered his condolences to the families of the victims, the government, and the people of Niger, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
He reiterated the full solidarity of the OIC with Niger and its people in the face of any threat to its security and stability and reaffirmed its condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and its support for the Nigerien government’s efforts to deal with it.
