Polish Foreign Affairs minister Paweł Jabłoński on Monday said that his country wishes to open an embassy in Kigali “as soon as possible”.
Speaking after meeting his Rwandan counterpart, Dr Vincent Biruta in Kigali, the top Polish diplomat said that opening embassy in Kigali will be an important milestone for both sides.
Stressing the opening of the Polish Embassy in Rwanda soon will mark a new era of relations and an important platform to promote the bilateral trade, investment and cultural exchanges.
The visit by top Polish diplomat comes at time Rwanda is currently hosting a two-day forum on “Enhancing cooperation between Rwandan and Polish Universities”.
The purpose of the forum is to bring together the leaders and representatives of Polish and Rwandan universities to develop ongoing collaboration and explore new opportunities in research, education and innovation to enable co-production and exchange of knowledge and experience.
The delegation from Poland is led by Pawel Jablonski, the Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in charge of Economic Cooperation, Africa and the Middle East.
During the forum, both Dr Valentine Uwamariya, Rwandan minister of Education and Paweł Jabłoński presided over the signing of Memorandum of Understandings between University of Rwanda, Rwanda Polytechnic and Polish universities for educational partnership.
Rwanda Polytechnic was established by the Government of Rwanda to implement Technical and Vocational Education, Training and Skills Development across the country.
