Nigerian musicians and politicians have condoled with Nigerian superstar, Davido and his lover, Chioma Rowland, over the death of their son, Ifeanyi.
Ifeanyi, who was 3 years, was said to have drowned at Davido house at Banana Island in Lagos, while his parents were away.
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, in his message tweeted: “My thoughts and prayers are with Davido and Chioma and the Adeleke family at this time. I pray for God to strengthen and comfort them.”
The Chief Whip of the Nigerian Senate, Orji Uzor Kalu, said that he had to cancel his official engagements on Tuesday to mourn the death of Davido’s son, Ifeanyi.
He also expressed his condolences via his Facebook page on Tuesday.
Kalu said, “Dear David/Chioma, I am sober, I am deeply saddened by the loss of your son, Ifeanyi. I have cancelled my official engagements today to mourn him quietly.
“Ifeanyi will be missed by everyone. May the Creator accept our prayers on his behalf.”
The PDP deputy governorship candidate of Lagos State, Funke Akindele, also prayed for the deceased’s parents over the loss.
The actress wrote, “This is so sad!! Ha!! Rest In Peace little champ. May the almighty God comfort Chioma Davido and their families.”
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Command on Tuesday said that eight domestic workers of Davido were brought in for questioning in connection with the death of his son, Ifeanyi Adeleke.
The report by The Punch newspaper on Tuesday said that the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the development, said that the domestic workers’ narrations would assist the command in ascertaining the circumstances surrounding the death of the three-year-old boy.
Hundeyin, however, said anyone not found culpable would be released immediately, adding the ones found culpable of negligence would be held back to assist the command in the ongoing investigation.
