The Senegalese President continues his meetings with high international officials and on Monday, the German Foreign Minister Ms. Annalena Baerbock, was received at the Presidential Palace.
The Presidency reported that during the meeting, Ms. Baerbock praised “the maturity of the Senegalese people and the solidity of our democracy” while expressing the desire of both nations to strengthen their bilateral relations.
It stated that the Head of German diplomacy emphasized that “peaceful and democratic change opens up new prospects for enhanced cooperation in all areas and noted that “my trip to Senegal and Cote d’Ivoire has shown me the breadth of our relations: we are building on offers that benefit people on both sides.”
Since taking office on March 24, the Senegalese President has stepped up his meetings with international leaders. On April 22, the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, met with President Faye to discuss closer cooperation between Senegal, Europe and the international community in general.
This was followed by a visit by the Malaysian Foreign Minister, Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan, to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Dakar and Kuala Lumpur.
On July 10, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and President Vladimir Putin’s Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Mikhail Bogdanov, visited Senegal to consolidate relations between Dakar and Moscow.
