The Ghanaian Times says the software is suspected to have been plagiarised from the existing single window software, which is being used by the government of Ghana.
The newspaper said the features, designs, and its operations resemble UNI-PAARS (PAAR), the one being used by the government through the Customs, therefore compelling some ports operators, who pleaded anonymity with the Times to call on government to investigate the circumstances leading to the award of contract to a new company for a period of 10 years.
They suspected that the software, which was newly built by Ghana Link Network Service Limited, with its overseas partners, CUPIA Koria Customs Service (UNIPASS), is alleged to be the same with the old software.
The newspaper said the President of the Ghana Institute of Freight Forwarders, Mr. Kwabena Ofosu-Appiah, has confirmed that the software share the same traits after it was presented to them at a meeting in Accra.
The Daily Graphic, for its part, said the Chief Executive Officer of an embattled gold depositing company, Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah, is wanted by the police, following his failure to remit investors’ deposits to them.
