The Ghanaian Times says Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, on Tuesday announced that the much anticipated drone technology services for delivery of medical supplies to the hinterlands of the country will begin in April.
He explained that the service would deliver 149 key medicines and blood to critical parts of the country.
Dr. Bawumia made this known when he opened the 5th Scientific Conference of the African Health Economics and Policy Association (AfHEA).
“Once the programme starts, Ghana would become the largest medical drone delivery country in the world,” he said, adding that this will also make medical care affordable and accessible.
The Daily Graphic on the other hand, said that students of the UEW on Tuesday disrupted academic work on their Winneba Campus in protest against the dismissal of some lecturers by the Governing Council of the university.
They also demanded the removal of Rev. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni, accusing him of running the school with an iron fist.
The Business and Financial Times said the government has embarked on a comprehensive programme to support the shea industry to make it viable and compete on the global market.
