Tangara conveyed a message of appreciation from Gambian President Adama Barrow to King Mohammed VI, highlighting the fraternal bond between the two leaders. He expressed deep gratitude for Morocco’s unwavering support, particularly during the recent Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Summit held in Banjul, which Tangara acknowledged was largely successful due to Morocco’s significant logistical and diplomatic assistance.
The visit underscored the depth of the bilateral relationship between the two countries. Discussions between the two foreign ministers covered a wide range of regional and international issues, including West African stability, socio-economic challenges, and collaborative initiatives. Tangara praised Minister Bourita’s wisdom and experience, emphasizing the productive nature of their discussions and their focus on achieving tangible results.
Tangara also highlighted King Mohammed VI’s significant influence as President of the Al-Quds Committee and spiritual leader of the Ummah, emphasizing the support provided by Morocco to Gambians in performing the Hajj pilgrimage.
Both countries expressed their commitment to leveraging their partnership to address shared challenges in areas such as agriculture, education, healthcare, and infrastructure development. This visit reaffirmed the shared vision of a united and prosperous Africa, with both Morocco and Gambia committed to pooling their efforts to ensure regional stability and drive socio-economic development initiatives across the continent.
