APA-Rabat (Morocco) The African Women Writers’ League is an organisation working to unify the cultural and intellectual voices of women on the continent.
The Constitutive Congress of the League of African Women Writers will take place on March 9, 2023 at the National Library of the Kingdom of Morocco in Rabat with the participation of speakers from 40 African states and 130 Moroccan writers and speakers.
Placed under the theme “To strengthen the ways of African cultural partnership,” this event is “a great intellectual and cultural project, whose preparation has been ensured by the League of Women Writers of Morocco for months, starting from several meetings of exchange and intellectual and cultural dialogues organised by the
president of the League, Badia Radi, with a group of Arab and African writers through the various branches of the League and different countries of the world,” the League of Women Writers of Africa said in a statement.
The congress will know particularly the ratification of the project of the League of African Women Writers “which works to unify the cultural and intellectual voices of African women and the introduction of cultural diversity and multilingualism in the continent, as well as the creation of local leagues in all countries, so that they serve as a bridge of sharing, solidarity and South-South cooperation.
According to the statement, this constitutive congress will conclude with the announcement of the president of the permanent office of the League of African Women Writers in Morocco and the presidents of the local leagues of African women writers.
Through this contribution, and as part of the implementation of South-South cooperation, the League aims to weave cultural and civilizational links and ensure openness to Africanity as the main lever for development and authentic partnership.
The League has a global strategic vision to strengthen partnerships and skills in human and cultural development, for a culture without borders and an African continent where peace and security prevails.
