South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa on Thursday discussed the Russia-Ukraine conflict with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, presidential spokesperson Vincent Magwenya said in Pretoria.
Magwenya said in a statement that Ramaphosa and Putin had a telephone discussion on the Russia-Ukraine conflict and other issues of bilateral interest.
“The two leaders discussed the ongoing efforts in the search for a peaceful end to the conflict in Ukraine,” the official said.
He added: “The leaders also discussed broad areas of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.”
Ramaphosa also expressed his condolences to Putin following the recent terrorist attack that killed 137 people.
The attack occurred at a packed concert venue in Moscow on March 22.
More than 140 people were also injured when gunmen entered the Crocus City Hall, firing indiscriminately before setting it on fire.
