South African President Cyril Ramaphosa spent the weekend on a campaign trail urging voters to register for the 2024 elections and pledging to address the challenges faced by the country.
He told governing African National Congress (ANC) supporters in KwaZulu-Natal province that the party would address challenges of service delivery faced by many communities across the country.
“Only the ANC can resolve your challenges,” he said, assuring residents that their cries were not falling on deaf ears.
He said he could “smell the victory of the ANC” and reaffirmed his confidence in the party’s KwaZulu-Natal leadership ability to deliver the goods in the 2024 national polls
“The work that has been done, as I saw in KwaDukuza, I could see that the leadership is energising – energising our membership, our volunteers, and our people. With that, I can smell victory of the ANC,” Ramaphosa said.
“I want to encourage you to continue uniting this glorious movement, and the division that we had in the past, let’s put them aside. Let us unite this important vehicle of liberation of our people,” he told the voters.
He urged them to register and vote for the ANC in the 2024 national elections, saying it was the only party that could resolve their challenges.
