President Cyril Ramaphosa is on Tuesday expected to receive the second part of the Commission of Inquiry into State Capture report into allegations of corruption under former president Jacob Zuma’s reign which ended in February 2018, the South Africa Presidency announced on Monday.
The presidency said it received its first volume of the document on 4 January, and would get the commission’s third and final report on 28 February this year.
A full report of the commission will be delivered by president to parliament on 30 June in Cape Town, it added.
The 4th January report covered the goings-on of the South African Revenue Service, the alleged corrupt practices at the South African Airways, and the alleged underhand dealings of Gupta brothers’ controversial New Age newspaper, the presidency said.
Acting Chief Justice and commission chairperson Raymond Zondo spent nearly four years to compile the three-volume report, it added.
This involved the biggest players in the country’s economy, including Zuma, and chief executives of the country’s state-owned enterprises, testifying at the heart of State Capture deliberations, the presidency noted.
