As part of the deployment of its air cargo digitization strategy, Royal Air Maroc (RAM) is implementing some innovation, in partnership with Portnet S.A. for the adoption of electronic voucher (BAD), the carrier says in a press.
After its launch of the dematerialization of the submission of summary declarations via PortNet, the national company is now initiating the electronic delivery slip to be delivered, previously physically delivered by the carrier to the consignee of the goods, the company explains.
Thanks to this innovation, Royal Air Maroc actively participates in streamlining air freight flows, and improves the transparency and traceability of related operations.
Thus, the voucher to be issued, which is necessary for the delivery of goods placed under customs supervision, is now generated automatically. It is made available to the importer or his representative through electronic means, through the PortNet Single Window platform, based on the recipient’s Common Business Identifier, RAM further says.
Thanks to the adoption of the electronic slip, the document is now available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. As a result, the new service speeds up the operations of picking up and sending off goods. Its online accessibility also allows real-time visibility for all the actors concerned, improving transparency as well as a reduction in the physical exchange of documents between Royal Air Maroc and national importers, which is of crucial importance in the context of the state of health emergency still in force.
Through this approach implemented at the level of all the freight terminals of the national airliner, Royal Air Maroc offers the community of importers and national freight forwarders a better quality of service, a more fluid logistics chain, and a saving of time, resulting in greater efficiency in the processing of imported goods, the statement concludes.
