As part of its development plan and in anticipation of the summer season, Royal Air Maroc has announced the launch of three new air routes linking Casablanca to Naples, Manchester and Abuja from 22 June 2024.
According to a statement seen by APA, the first route to Naples in Italy will start on 22 June with two flights a week, on Mondays and Saturdays. Departures from Casablanca are scheduled for 16:15 for an arrival in Naples at 20:30, and return flights will leave Naples at 21:30 to land in Casablanca at 23:50.
On 23 June, Royal Air Maroc will inaugurate a new route linking Casablanca to Manchester, in Great Britain, with three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Departures from Casablanca will be at 13:45 for arrival in Manchester at 17:20, with return flights scheduled for 18:20 for arrival in Casablanca at 21:45.
Also on 23 June, the airline will extend its African network with flights to Abuja, the Nigerian capital, operated three times a week on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Flights will leave Casablanca at 01:15 and arrive in Abuja at 06:10, while return flights will leave the same city at 07:10 and land in Casablanca at 11:55.
“The launch of these three new routes is part of our development plan to open up air routes in several promising markets,” explained Hamid Addou, Chairman and CEO of Royal Air Maroc,
Mr Addou emphasised that “the aim is also to meet strong demand in certain countries where there is a large Moroccan community,” noting that “the launch of these routes also aims to strengthen our continental positioning in favour of the African Diaspora, particularly in Nigeria.”
Royal Air Maroc’s CEO added that “the aim of opening these routes is to use air travel as a lever to promote Morocco as a tourist destination.”
These new destinations mark a significant step forward in Royal Air Maroc’s strategy to strengthen its presence in key markets. The direct link with Naples will increase the airline’s offer in Italy, while the connection with Abuja will expand its network in Africa, bringing the total number of African destinations served from Casablanca to 27.
Finally, the opening of the route to Manchester will support Morocco’s tourism strategy aimed at attracting more British visitors.
