Ties date back to 1958, with the Soviet Union playing a significant role in Guinea’s industrial and civil development. The mining sector, particularly bauxite, serves as a cornerstone of their partnership with Russian companies holding a strong presence.

During his visit, Lavrov is expected to discuss strengthening ties between Russia and Guinea on both international and regional matters, expanding cooperation across various sectors to build on their existing partnership.
