The Appeals Commission of the Rwanda Football Federation (Ferwafa) has reduced a month-long ban imposed on Police FC coach, Zambian Albert Joel Mphande from to a suspension from three matches.
A statement issued by Rwanda’s football body said the decision took effect on Monday.
Mphande was slapped with a four-month stadium ban and about $55 on March 14 for his alleged attempt to harm a referee during his side’s 2-1 loss to lowly Amagaju on March 7.
The decision came after his club, Police FC, had slapped him with a three-match suspension for the incident.
The Disciplinary Committee which was chaired its president Jules Mabano based on article 23 of the FERWAFA Disciplinary Code slapped him with a four-month ban.
However, the Zambian later appealed the decision which prompted the Appeals Committee to sit and deliberate on the matter.
In it’s decision which was made official by Rwanda Football Federation, the Appeals Committee. The committee found Coach Mphande guilty of the improper misconduct and reduced his punishment from one month to a three-match ban and a fine of Rwf. 100,000.
The ban takes effect from May 27, 2019 and will see the Zambian miss his club’s next three assignment, it said
Police club, with 31 points, is currently fifth in the table in the first division football championship.
