The cooperation agreements cover strategic areas including energy, education, trade, environment, judicial cooperation, the statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Kigali said.
During talks between Rwanda Foreign Affairs Minister, Richard Sezibera and his Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita, the two countries agreed that the new move will boost fruitful political consultations on issues of common interest in Africa.
The cooperation agreements cover the creation of a joint permanent commission that held its first session in Rabat, the statement said.
It said the Rwandan Foreign minister’s visit to Morocco would open vast prospects for bilateral cooperation.
The move comes after King Mohammed VI, of Morocco visited Rwanda in late October 2016 during which the two countries signed various significant agreements that included a General Cooperation Agreement.
The agreements also cover areas such as MOU on political consultation mechanism, air service agreement, accords on visa exemption, security cooperation and tourism.
Rwanda and Morocco also signed agreements related to launch the “Africa Mutual Growth” investment fund, reciprocal promotion and protection of investments, partnership for the development and the promotion of economic zones in Rwanda.
Major focus of this bilateral cooperation also covers the establishment of the African Institute of Technology (AIT), a bilateral council between the Rwanda Private Sector Federation (PSF) and the Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), reports said.
