APA – Kigali (Rwanda) – Rwanda national football head coach Carlos Alos Ferrer on Tuesday confirmed he is leaving his role as head coach.
The Spanish gaffer took charge of Rwanda in March 2022, replacing Vincent Mashami. He later extended his stay at the hot seat in March on a two-year deal that would keep him at the helm until March 2025.
“I want to wish FERWAFA (football body)the very best for the future. The new members of board, the players, the staff and the supporters. I want to say thank you to you for giving me the opportunity to work in this amazing country,” Ferrer said.
According to him, it is time to start a new project for the new members of the federation and also for me is time to start a new project. I’m an Amavubi supporter from today and forever.
The Spanish gaffer in March signed a two-year contract extension after committing his future at the national team until March 2025 but fresh reports indicated that he wants to terminate his deal after he received a lucrative offer from a yet-to-be confirmed team.
