The permanent secretary in the Rwanda’s Ministry of Sports, Didier Shema Maboko, has been suspended from his duties by President Paul Kagame, an official statement confirmed Saturday.
A statement issued by Prime Minister Edouard Ngirente said the suspension took immediate effect.
Maboko has served in this position for nearly three years, having been appointed on November 2019.
He has previously worked in different capacities Maboko in the sports sector including as a technical director in the national basketball federation.
In May this year, President Kagame suspended the former state minister of Culture, Edouard Bamporiki in what was then communicated as “owing to matters of accountability under investigation.”
