The Rwanda Olympic Committee (RNOC) will elect a new president in May this year to replace outgoing chairman, Valens Munyabagisha who resigned earlier this month on personal grounds, sports sources revealed in Kigali on Monday.
According to the new elections calendar, aspirants will submit their candidacy from April 24-30.
Approved candidates will be announced on April 30 before they campaign for votes from May 1-7.
The resignation of former Rwanda Olympic Committee president follows a series of disagreements among member federations on when to hold the election.
Some wanted the outgoing chairman and his committee to leave office after their term of office ran out last month.
Munyabagisha was elected unopposed in March 2017, replacing Robert Bayigamba.
Since 2010, the RwandaNational Olympic Committee (NOC) has scrapped term limits for its chairman.
