Rwanda’s national women cricket team is preparing for the ICC Women’s Qualifier Africa 2019 that will saw the participation of nine other African national teams from 5-12 May, a sport source told APA Saturday in Kigali.
Rwanda are in Group A together with Tanzania, Nigeria, Mozambique and Zimbabwe, while Uganda, Kenya, Namibia and Sierra Leone make up Group B.
Only the winners of the regional tournament will proceed to the next and final qualifying stage, the ICC Women’s Qualifier Global contest in Australia.
In their first match Rwanda will face Nigeria on 5 May while the second match will be played on 8 May against Zimbabwe and Mozambique.
Saturday, 11 May, will see Zimbabwe versus Nigeria at Old Hararians and Rwanda against Tanzania in the final group matches.
