APA – Kigali (Rwanda) – Rwanda has signed a framework agreement with Poland to boost bilateral ties in various fields including trade and green technologies.
The deal was signed on Wednesday during a three-day visit to Rwanda by Polish President Andrzej Duda and his wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda.
According to a statement seen by APA Thursday, the new agreements include a memorandum of understanding on defense cooperation, a memorandum of understanding between respective Universities as well as another between respective investment agencies.
Official estimates show that the Rwandan community in Poland has grown to over 1200 students pursuing their studies in Poland.
During the visit in December 2022, Polish Foreign Affairs minister Paweł Jabłoński said that his country wishes to open an embassy in Kigali “as soon as possible”.
Stressing the opening of the Polish Embassy in Rwanda soon will mark a new era of relations and an important platform to promote the bilateral trade, investment and cultural exchanges.
