Rwanda is set to host the first edition of the Africa Coffee and Tea Expo (ACT) this year on July 12 – 14, 2022 at the Kigali Convention Centre – The Village Exhibition, organisers of the event disclosed Monday.
Africa Coffee and Tea Expo is a must-attend event that will promote business linkages between African coffee and tea producers and international buyers by showcasing Africa’s best produce to the global market.
Under the theme “African Coffee and Tea, the value chain for sustainable practices”, the three-ay expo will be the leading coffee and tea B2B networking platform focusing on the African continent, mainly providing targeted connections for a sector growth strategic content to serve the needs of involved partners. The event will be an opportune moment to assess challenges being faced by the African continent in both agri-business sectors and explore available opportunities. In addition to discussing actions that will raise the quality and competitiveness of coffee and tea from Africa, it will help promote, grow existing markets, and secure new ones.
“Coffee and Tea continue to play a leading role in the economy of Africa, and the lives of our most valued producers and business operators. The continent contributes 11% 1 and 37% 2 of the two cash crops’ global exports, respectively. This adds significantly to foreign exchange earnings and the monetisation of the rural economy. It’s something big we have to discuss more often to make its income even bigger.” Noted Claude Bizimana, the CEO of the National Agricultural Export Development Board.
We expect this conference and exhibition will allow participants to adopt policies that encourage transparency in coffee and tea marketing and establish long-term partnerships between private and public sectors, leading to more efficient production and trade in African tea and coffees. The dialogue will include leveraging regional and international integration to improve trade and strengthening the partnership among African tea & coffee-producing countries.
“We are excited to host the first-ever Africa Coffee and Tea expo in Rwanda. We extend our sincere appreciation to this expo’s organisers, Synergy Business Events and Rwanda Events for their commitment to manage the expo in Rwanda, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, said the Rwanda Convention Bureau CEO, Nelly Mukazayire.
The Africa Coffee &Tea Expo (ACT) events are a series of African focused events that enable consumers and the general public to touch, feel and taste the latest packaged coffee, tea, and other hot beverage products to a local and international audience, it said.
