A fifth-freedom air route will be shortly linking Kigali (Rwanda) and and Nouakchott in Maurtania, according to a statement.
A fifth-freedom flight is one where an airline company from one country or region, when running an international service, gets permission to make a stopover in a third country and take on passengers and cargo.
The deal was concluded following a recent visit by wanda President Paul Kagame who alongside his Mauritanian counterpart Mohamed Ould Ghazouani witnessed the signing ceremony in Nouakchott, last week.
Once operational, Mauritania would be the 30th destination that RwandAir offers services to.
RwandAir currently operates 29 destinations across Africa, Europe and Asia.
In Europe, the state carrier airline operates flights to London and Brussels.
