Rwandan first league football club of Kiyovu Sports Club, have signed the Ugandan striker Emmanuel Arnold Okwi on a one-year deal, sports sources revealed Monday.
The Club chairman, Juvénal Mvukiyehe confirmed the development saying they were delighted to confirm that forward Emmanuel Okwi has signed a one-year contract.
Okwi has previously played at Uganda’s Sports Club, both of Tanzania’s top clubs Simba and Yanga as well as brief stints in Tunisia (Etoile Du Sahel) and Denmark (SønderjyskE Fodbold).
Besides being a key player for the Uganda national team which he captains, Okwi has played for a number of clubs in his country and out of it.
The 28-year-old wasn’t playing for any team after parting ways with Egypt’s Alexandria Ittihad.
At Kiyovu Sports, he finds fellow new signings who include Congolese striker Pinoki Vuvu Patsheli from AS Maniema de Kindu in the Democratic Republic of Congo and defender Ndayishimiye Thierry from Marines FC.
In a related development, Kiyovu Sports Club has strengthened its lead in Rwanda’s football league thanks to its 2-0 win against Rayon Sports in Rwanda’s Primus National League Match Day Seven.
