APA – Kigali (Rwanda) – A few weeks after Libyan first league club Al Ahli SC of Tripoli have signed Rwandan midfielder Bonheur Mugisha, the player has declined the offer by joining Tunisia’s Avenir Sportif de La Marsa, Sports sources confirmed to APA Thursday in Kigali.
The 23-year-old footballer who is also known as “Casemiro” has initially inked a two-year contract with the Libyan club after his club terminated contract with him for Undisclosed reasons.
Reports said the player will be joining his former coach Ben Moussa who resigned from Rwanda’s military club APR FC in November last year before joining his home-based AS Marsa.
The Rwandan player is one of the graduates of Heroes football academy in Mayange-Bugesera District (East).
He joined the academy at the age of 15 and after impressing the coaches, he was promoted to the senior team after two years.
In 2019, during his first year in the second division, he helped Heroes to finish in fourth position.
The following season they finished in second position and the team was promoted to the top flight.
But the club was relegated in the 2019/20 season after a poor run of results pushing the player out of the club to join Mukura Victory Sport on loan.
Mugisha enjoyed two successful seasons with Mukura VS and his stellar performance during the 2020/21 season attracted the attention of the toflight military club who eventually signed him on a two-year contract.
