APA – Kigali (Rwanda) – Rwandan striker Danny Usengimana has been on trial with Belgian fourth-tier side KFC Merelbeke this week, Sports sources confirmed Sunday.
The 27-year-old who has been until recently playing for Police FC had trial periods where he played for Merelbeke in their 9-1 defeat to Gent.
He previously featured for clubs including Singida in Tanzania and APR FC.
He was a squad member for Rwanda during the 2016 and 2020 African Nations Championships.
In a related development for transfer window, Rwandan topflight league giant APR FC on Saturday announced its signing of the Ugandan international midfielder Thaddeo Lwanga and Burundian left wing forward Ismaël Nshimirimana a.k.a Pichu.
The move comes after the military club signed another lethal striker Danny Ndikumana from Burundian topflight side Rukinzo FC on a two-year deal that will keep him at the club until June 2025.
The military side also is chasing the signatures of Nigerian Victor Mbaoma, Apam Assongwe, Congolese goalkeeper Pavelh Ndzila of Etoile du Congo and Cameroonian defender Ngweni Denis Ndasi, it said.
