Three new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed late Wednesday in Rwanda, with the total number reaching now to 11, the ministry of Health said in a statement obtained Thursday.
One of the cases involves an Indian woman, 37 who arrived in Rwanda on 8 March 2020 from Mumbai, India. She is the spouse of a previous confirmed positive case, the statement said
Another cases is a Rwandan man, 26, without recent travel history while the third patient is also a Rwandan national, 45, who arrived on 16 March 2020 from Belgium via Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Details on the 3 were released Wednesday night with new additional confirmed cases.
At time the tracing of all contacts has been conducted for further management, Rwandan Health officials explained that all confirmed coronavirus patients remain under treatment in stable condition, isolated from other patients.
In the meanwhile, Rwandan Health officials urged residents to take the outbreak seriously and urged hand-washing and social distancing.
A hotline has been established by the ministry of Health where public health officials can answer questions about the coronavirus.
Following the confirmed cases, the Education ministry ordered that all public and private schools at from nursery to the university be closed for two weeks.
