APA – Kigali (Rwanda) – Rwanda’s first league football club Gasogi United on Saturday announced the signing of a highly rated Cameroonian goalkeeper Dawuda Ibrahim Bareli on undisclosed fee.
As part of the ongoing transfer market, the club also signed two other players including Congolese forward Arselle Cedrick, Burundian Modele Akiba.
The move comes after the club confirmed the appointment of a French female coach, the first ever in Rwandan football history, Caroline Pizzala, a former player at both Paris Saint-Germain and Marseilles women teams.
In a related development, Rwanda’s military club have signed six new foreign players after terminating contracts with ten players including non performing ones in order to balance their books.
With the exception of Bonheur Mugisha who had been offered a deal by Libyan club Al Ahli SC of Tripoli and had to be released, the military side had to do away with captain Djabel Manishimwe who struggled for playing time.
In the meantime, another Rwandan star striker Ernest Sugira is looking for a new team after ending his contract with Syrian club Al Wahda.
Sugira, 32, previously played for AS Muhanga, Rayon Sports, APR, AS Kigali in Rwanda and AS Vita Club from DR Congo.
